ENDORSEMENTS

Ann Wofford

Owner, Wofford Acres Vineyards

El Dorado County needs an experienced Auditor/Controller with institutional knowledge of El Dorado County.
The Auditor/Controller needs to be able to make tough decisions and stand by them. Joe Harn has done that and will continue to do what it takes to keep El Dorado County fiscally stable. Not only has Joe been a constant watch dog of County finances, he has also dedicated himself as a board member to a variety of non-profits, familiarizing himself with all facets of our County. Joe Harn has my complete support for El Dorado County Auditor/Controller.

Gordon Vicini

Life Long El Dorado County Resident

Joe Harn and I both graduated from El Dorado High School and we have served together on a nonprofit board for over 20 years. I know Joe well. Joe donates money to a lot of our community’s nonprofits that help kids and the poor. He is very generous with his own money, but very frugal with the taxpayers’ money.
When Joe took office, the County had zero cash on hand and was $22 million in debt. At the end of the last fiscal year, the County had $45 million in cash and no debt. As the Taxpayers’ watchdog, Joe has changed the culture at the County and has eliminated reckless borrowing. Please join me in voting for Joe Harn, County Auditor-Controller.

Joe Warchol

Former Chief Probation Officer, EDC & 30 Year Resident

I have lived in El Dorado County for the past 30 Years and in that time I got to know Joe Harn very well. Our daughters played soccer and basketball together and Joe coached my daughter. I also worked in the El Dorado County Probation Department for 23 years and served as the County’s Chief Probation Officer for 11 years. I couldn’t have successfully run the Probation Department without Joe’s accurate, timely budget numbers and Joe’s help. In my time at the County, I saw Joe stand up to the Board of Supervisors and just about anybody else to prevent needless borrowing and wasteful spending. Joe Harn has been the driving force in keeping El Dorado County debt free. Join me in voting Joe Harn for Auditor-Controller.

Sheriff John McGinness

Former Sacramento Sheriff, Talk Show Host KFBK

Joe Harn and I have known each other for about 30 years.  I have followed El Dorado County’s operations and financial management closely.  Joe Harn is the perfect example of why every county should have an elected County Auditor-Controller.  Joe looks out for the taxpayers first.  He willing to stand up the Board of Supervisors, real estate developers, and just about anybody else.  When Joe took office, the County had zero cash on hand and was $22 million in debt.  At the end of the last fiscal year, the County had $45 million in cash and no debt.  Please join me in supporting Joe Harn for El Dorado County Auditor-Controller.

Betty January

Former President El Dorado Hills Friends of the Library and 45 year county resident

In the late 1990s I got involved with a group of friends to push for the construction of the library in El Dorado Hills that our community deserved and want to acknowledge the critical role that El Dorado County Auditor-Controller Joe Harn played in obtaining the financing of our beautiful library. Joe pressured developers and helped the County obtain over two thirds of cost of construction from them. He worked with the Board of Supervisors in Placerville to find the rest of the money that was needed. I am convinced that we would not have our beautiful community library without Joe’s efforts. Joe makes developers pay their share so residents don’t have to. Join me in voting Joe Harn for Auditor-Controller.

-Betty January,

Rusty Dupray

Former County Supervisor, Retired Firefighter-Paramedic

I am a former El Dorado County Supervisor and have known Auditor-Controller Joe Harn for 28 years. Joe is the first CPA in history to serve as Auditor-Controller and he truly understands the financing of infrastructure. I want to acknowledge the huge role Joe played in building the Silva Valley Interchange.
The cost of the Silva Valley Interchange was about $60 million and aside from a million dollar grant from the state, developers paid 100% of the cost of the interchange. Joe helped the County negotiated a $20 million developer advance, the largest in County history, to complete the financing of the interchange. I am convinced that without Joe we wouldn’t have a Silva Valley Interchange and we wouldn’t have a lot of other infrastructure in our County.
Joe makes developers pay so we don’t have to. Join me in voting Joe Harn for Auditor-Controller.

Al Hamilton

Attorney, EDC Legal Program for Seniors, Past President Taxpayers Association and 80 Year County Resident

Joe Harn and I have known each other for about 25 years.  I have lived in our community for 80 Years.  For the last 14 Years I have worked at the County.  I admire the job Joe has done as our County Auditor-Controller.  Here is what the man that hired me at County Senior Legal has to say about Joe.

“Joe Harn strongly supports services to seniors. He has consistently advocated for Senior Nutrition, Senior Legal and other services so important to the safety and well-being of vulnerable seniors. An opponent of high administrative costs, Joe has worked to see tax dollars spent on direct services to the public. Whether it be public safety, roads or senior programs, the beneficiaries of his efforts have been County residents. Now, more than ever, our growing senior population needs fiscally responsible, caring and skilled decision-makers in County government.”

-John Litwinovich, El Dorado County Director of Community Services/Human Services, 1982 - 2007

I can’t explain it any better than John Litwinovich.  Please join me in supporting Joe Harn for El Dorado County Auditor-Controller.
